Haha I’m the opposite. 10 years ago i would have screamed my lungs off at the sight of a gecko. Thanks for the reco! :) True that I haven’t been eating a lot of Balinese food.
Love your descriptions, I can imagine being there. Oftentimes I tell myself I love nature too, but I’ve learned, at a safe distance…. cheering you on for the next couple of weeks ahead!
Next time hit up local temples and see what they can do. I assume they must have a temple to Vishnu, Shiva and perhaps Kali (or the boring Lakshmi). They might have incense and some good Sanskrit words to settle the jungle and make evenings more peaceful. This may sound crazy if you are unfamiliar with the practice, but it works. Locals have their magic with such things. The only issue might be cost. I have never been to Bali, but it is probably an expensive place, so temple donations might be larger than normal.
Wow. 10 years ago I would have braved the bugs. Right now I'm squirming behind a laptop.
I hope you find what you need in nature, Jisoo. On your way out, be sure to try Nasi Bali or babi guling (most famous one: https://en.tripadvisor.com.hk/Restaurant_Review-g469404-d2629908-Reviews-Warung_Babi_Guling_Pak_Malen-Seminyak_Kuta_District_Bali.html ) this is 100% an unsolicited Bali recommendation but many my friends left Bali without never trying Balinese rice!

Thank you Clare! It’s been a bliss to be in nature!
"Should I crush it with the Dostoyevsky? No. The weight of the literature would explode the bug inside out, it’s too gross." 😂🙌🏼
Thank you for the expression! :)
